Cracks allow water to penetrate the various layers of your asphalt. Crack growth is a result of penetrated water freezing and expanding in the winter.

Filling cracks will prevent additional damages and cracking due to water penetration. The hot rubber material that fills the cracks creates a seam that is strong enough to keep water out of the crack.

Victory Paving cleans all cracks before hot rubber crack filler is applied. This cleaning process includes removing dirt and killing off vegetation – reducing crack moisture as much as possible prior to filling.

Victory Paving recommends crack filling take place with all sealcoat applications (usually every 2-3 years). Sealcoat application will prevent water from penetrating small surface cracks. However, larger cracks that are more than ¼ inch wide and ½ inch in depth need to be filled with hot rubber in order to prevent additional water penetration.
